Access, Equity and Quality of Secondary Education Amidst Insecurity in Nigeria

This paper examines the critical role of access, equity, and quality in secondary education as essential tools for addressing Nigeria's pervasive insecurity. It highlights the objectives of secondary education, analyzes the security situation in Nigeria, identifies the root causes of insecurity, and discusses its effects on the education sector. The paper argues that secondary education can foster security development by equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to address societal challenges. It proposes practical solutions, including curriculum reform, teacher training, increased funding, community involvement, and the integration of technology. The paper concludes that prioritizing access, equity, and quality in secondary education is vital for achieving sustainable security and development in Nigeria
